KNCV Nigeria through the support of the NTBLCP with funding from Global Fund donated 20 Portable Digital X-ray machines to the Kano state Government. During the hand over ceremony which held yesterday 13th February 2024 at the State DMSCA, the Honourable Coordinating Minister of Health and Social welfare ably represented by Dr Godwin Etodon urged the Kano state Government to utilize the machines effectively to help eradicate TB in the state and the country at large.

His Excellency the Executive Governor of Kano state who was ably represented at the occasion by the Permanent secretary, Kano state ministry of health assured the minister of purposeful utilization of these investments towards bettering the life of the people of Kano state, he also thanked KNCV Nigeria and the NTBLCP for the gracious donation and for choosing Kano state as the first state to benefit from such donation.

In his remarks, the Executive Director of KNCV Nigeria, Dr Bethrand Odume thanked His Excellency the Executive Governor for providing sterling leadership and the enabling environment for all implementing partners working in the state, he reiterated the commitment of KNCV Nigeria towards continuous collaboration and support to the state through the ministry of health. The highlight of the event was the inspection of the donated equipments by the Honourable Minister and His Excellency thereafter taking a tour of the DMSCA where all the machines were stored for onward distribution to the selected facilities. A 2-day training was conducted earlier by KNCV Nigeria to train the radiographers who will be operating the PDX machines across 20 selected facilities in the state.
