KNCV Nigeria Showcases Groundbreaking TB Innovations at World Health Summit 2025 in Berlin

The Executive Director of the Knowledge Network for Disease Control and Vigilance (KNCV) Nigeria, Dr. Bethrand Odume, was among the distinguished global health leaders who convened at the World Health Summit 2025 in Berlin, Germany. Themed “Taking Responsibility for Health in a Fragmenting World,” the summit brought together experts, policymakers, and innovators to co-create solutions for global health challenges, grounded in data and evidence.

Dr. Odume represented KNCV Nigeria with distinction, sharing the organization’s transformative experience in scaling up TBLAMP technology, a molecular diagnostic tool for tuberculosis detection, across Nigeria. His presentation resonated with African country missions present in Germany, highlighting Nigeria’s leadership in TB innovation and control.

In recognition of KNCV Nigeria’s groundbreaking contributions, Human Diagnostics, in partnership with their in-country representative, McPage, announced a scholarship donation to be awarded to a selected Nigerian student pursuing Biomedical Sciences. This gesture celebrates KNCV Nigeria’s impact and aims to inspire the next generation of scientists and public health professionals.

The event was further graced by the presence of Dr. Yakubu A. Adadu, PhD, Nigeria’s Consular General to Germany, who attended with his team, underscoring the importance of Nigeria’s representation in global health dialogues.

KNCV Nigeria’s participation at the summit not only showcased the country’s strides in TB control but also reinforced the value of collaboration, innovation, and evidence-based approaches in tackling health challenges across borders.
